AMERICAN slasher Bodies, Bodies, Bodies is a smart and entertaining little horror film.
I say ‘little’ just because it’s relatively small budget and arrived without a lot of fanfare.
If you’re expecting the typical slasher you’d be under-estimating the script by first-timers Saran Delappe and Kristen Roupenian which has a nice twist while excoriating many of today’s most annoying societal traits.
A group of 20-somethings are spending the weekend at one of their parents’ homes, planning to see out a hurricane in luxury.
None of them seem to particularly like each other, even those who have known each other for years, and have little qualms in letting their feelings known.
Later in the night they decide to play a game where one person chooses a killer card and the lights are turned off. When you are touched on the shoulder you have to play dead, the lights come back on and everyone tries to guess who the killer is. The process keeps repeating.
Only problem is that people start dying in real life and everyone turns on each other in their efforts to survive.
Pete Davidson is the biggest name in the cast and does a good job with his part.
It’s well worth a watch. I’ll happily see it again.
