Fall hits its mark

Fall  ★★★

AS ITS title would suggest, the survival thriller Fall isn’t for those who dislike heights.

The majority of the film is set on the exposed circular ledge atop a 2,000 foot high radio tower, making the widescreen cinema experience particularly challenging.

In the opening sequence a climber dies and later two women, played by Grace Caroline Currey and Virginia Gardner, decide the tower climb will provide them with be cathartic, particular for one of them who has fallen into a depression.

Unfortunately, the pair end up stranded at the top with no phone signal in an area where very few people venture.

The acting is fine and some of the sequences are quite exciting. You are also constantly wondering how they are going to survive.

But man there are quite a few plot holes that detract from the enjoyment, the most obvious being the lack of preparation and ignorance of obvious warning signals by the two allegedly experienced climbers and adventurers.

I wouldn’t climb a ladder with either of them.
