Jeepers, Creepers: Reborn  ★★

CONFESSION time…I have not seen any of the original Jeepers Creepers films.

Three of them were released in the early 2000s, focusing on a demonic killer dubbed The Creeper, a character created by writer Victor Salva.

The fourth film, 2022’s Jeepers Creepers: Reborn, is a little confusedA in concept and ultimately doesn’t succeed as either an origin or advancement story.

Based on the IMDB and Wikipedia descriptions only, Reborn feels like just a re-introduction of the same set-up and characters.

The attempts to explain and broaden the film’s lore fall flat and the final act just delivers familiar tropes all round.

The Creeper character should look a lot more frightening than the fairly average make-up allows.

I’d take a look at the original first.
