Lack of budget kills execution

Condor’s Nest ★★★

AN AMERICAN war veteran, a renegade ex-Nazi and an Israeli secret agent reluctantly join forces to hunt down fugitive war criminals in South America.

Along the way they double-cross each other and evade a variety of Nazi killers before a final showdown at a secret, heavily guarded villa.

Sounds pretty good right?

We’ll, yes it is, but unfortunately the action/thriller Condor’s Nest doesn’t succeed to the level it could have done.

The main reason is its low budget which doesn’t allow for many exteriors or well-staged action sequences.

When characters travel it’s mostly fairly quickly or in that unseen television series manner.

There are some familiar faces in the supporting cast, but two of the three leads aren’t really up to scratch.

The script builds story as opposed to characters so it’s hard to form any strong audience bonds.

Despite these problems, the overall premise and a couple of good twists in the final act almost help you forget them.
