The Dive ★★½

SEEN many German/Maltese thrillers lately?

The unlikely film production allies are behind the 2023 release The Dive.

A remake of a 2020 Norwegian film, Breaking Surface, it’s a two-hander set in and around the ocean.

May and Drew are two childhood friends on a European holiday who go scuba diving and get into trouble.

Trapped underwater with air running out the pair desperately try to survive.

We’ve seen this kind of film quite a bit over the past few years and The Dive is no better or worse.

The acting is decent and the sense of peril is well presented in many scenes.
