THE V/H/S found footage horror anthology film series has had its ups and downs since starting in 2012.
There have been six instalments to date and the latest, 2023’s V/H/S/85, sits squarely in the middle, both in terms of the overall impact and comprising, as usual, good and average segments.
There are five short films with the interstitial material provided by the story of a transformation that occurs during a university research experiment.
The first story is arguably the best one about a group of friends terrorised by a sniper. The other standouts are story three about a family party and the final story about a police officer haunted by visions of crimes yet to be committed.
Iām being suitably vague about the stories because the anticipation of story and outcome is the best part of a short film.
So, three out of five is pretty decent.
