LOW budget thriller The Passenger jumps out of the blocks with a compelling opening act.
Our hero is kidnapped following a shocking incident at a fast food restaurant.
But, rather than wanting a hostage, the kidnapper seems more interested in making his victim deal with the problems in his own life, including a case of unrequited love from high school.
It’s fairly implausible and character motivations aren’t explained as well as they should be, but the acting and some twists and turns keep you interested until a strong ending in keeping with the rest of the film’s uneven tone.
