THE Friday the 13th franchise was starting to gather some steam in 1982.
For the second sequel, Friday the 13th Part III, the studio decided to give it the 3D treatment.
This gimmick has mostly worked quite well for horror films due to the interaction that can be generated amongst a rowdy audience willing to just have a fun viewing experience.
And it’s the case here with hot pokers, pitchforks and machetes coming at you, in addition to the stray eyeball popping out of a crushed skull.
Like the first sequel, Part 3 picks up immediately after the previous film but, apart from adding a few more victims in the form of local bikies, it doesn’t differ from the basic formula.
Apart from being the only instalment in 3D, Part 3’s main claim to fame is introducing Jason’s trademark hockey mask, replacing the makeshift sack.
