Trim Season (Monsterfest 2023) ★★

EVER heard of a weed witch? Neither have I.

I’ll give the low-budget horror film Trim Season the benefit of the doubt and say the makers invented.

But it’s still a pretty silly premise that barely manages to hold a feature length narrative together.

A group of young people agree to spend time at a remote marijuana farm, lured there by the promise of making some good cash quickly.

But the business is run by a wacko old lady who has other supernatural reasons for our intrepid bunch.

There are a few interesting sequences and the occasional decent gore, but none of the characters stand out and things just get sillier and sillier to a point in the final act where most viewers will cease to care.
