THIS film is terrible.
Without doubt it’s the worst film of 2020 to date and one of the worst major releases the usually reliable Blumhouse studios has ever put out.
It tries to put a horror spin on the old television series which told stories of people wanting to act out their fantasies coming to an island that provided this service.
I can’t even recall seeing an episode of the series but it was popular for a while in a so-bad-it’s-good way.
In contrast this film is just bad. The script is confusing to say the least, the editing and direction nondescript and the acting suggests they either didn’t care less or had no idea what they were supposed to be doing.
Two weeks on and I can barely remember anything about the film except a) it wasn’t frightening at all and b) Michael Pena, Michael Rooker and Maggie Q are in it.
I’m giving it one star for having the audacity to play at cinemas and another half for Maggie Q.
